Been a While- Time to Start Giving Back

I have not had to deal with collection agencies or credit issues in quite sometime and have to thank the online credit world for giving me the guidance and the courage to face these fools down. Now it is time to start giving back and putting more content out there to help others.

What has made me decide to do this is because a good friend of mine is being chased by Cach LLC and they are wearing him out. So I started doing some research on them for him and showing him some tips to use to fight back against them.

I found an article about Cach LLC not protecting consumers identities and that really gave us both a wake up call. These companies have access to a consumers personal information and do not even use their real name. That should be a wake up call for anyone dealing with these companies.

One thing you want to be sure yo do is not let them bully you over the phone and make them put everything in writing and that usually gets them to shut up. Here is another good website I found that helps people who are paying a collection agency. Some pretty good advice ther as well.

The thing is when you get out of colection hell then you do not have to use websites that say they help Any Credit Get Car Loans, but really it has been fun putting that one together. :P Until next time

I am going to start posting about the available Credit Info Resource s available on the Internet.

There are many forums dedicated to credit repair and dealing with collection agencies. There is a lot of good advice to be found in many of the online credit repair forums, but then again there is plenty of bad advice and poor forum dynamics too.

Many of the credit repair forums are treated more as sounding boards for the forum owner to show there omnipotence instead of giving real help and if you show them where they are wrong they resort to flames and personal attacks.

The best credit repair forum in my opinion is Credit Boards,(they have not asked for nor have I been compensated for this endorsement) because of the diversity of the community and the breadth of knowledge displayed there. Not only is the community dynamic they also have the largest user base bar none. You are best to stay away from Credit Repair Forums that have limited user bases and proclaim that they are Credit Info Resources.

I have a new sight that will be in the form of an online newspaper. The new site will focus it's attention on misinformation dispelled by news sources, unethical corporate behavior and opinions on current consumer news.

The new site is Consumer Blotter it is time to bring these types of things to to the forefront for the world to see. Many people use online forums and sites like ripoff report to vent in anonymity in fear to stand up for their rights publicly. It is time for consumer to stop being shoved around by companies big and small.

If you have been dealing with abusive collection agencies one of the best ways to stop them from abusing others is to get the word out about them and their abusive tactics.

Using the internet is one of the most cost effective ways to do this. I created a special blog to get the word out about collection agencies that have attempted to collect nonexistent debts or that have completely violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

While this method not fit your style you can do it in complete anonymity if you desire. I really don't care if I get a reputation as a debtor to avoid by collection agencies, but using a brash style achieves many goals for me.

Midland Credit Management does not let their employees give their last name while they have all of your personal information such as social security number, date of birth and home address.

Time to get active again - FBCS Collections Screwed Up

I recently sent two letters to a collection agency offering them the ability to resolve mutual impending litigation. They responded by having me arrested. Yes that is right they had me arrested. Although I have not been officially charged with anything I am under a bond to keep the peace.

It is amazing that a judge would even sign an order such as this. They responded to letters and statement of facts available in the public domain by having me served with a good Behavior Warrant. I used the same techniques that they use to get people to pay alleged debts to contact them about my claims of their violations of the FDCPA. I sent two faxes, dropped off a letter and started an online diary like this Web Log. They never asked me not to send any more faxes and they gave me directions to their office.

Lets see how collection agencies behave.

Report to Credit Reports - Let others know you own them money
Mail Letters - Let you know they have a claim
Call on the phone - Attempt to collect payment
Call at work - General Harassment in my opinion.
Visit you at work - It has happened to me

So if every alleged debtor followed the lead of this collection agency they and every collection agency in the country would get served with warrants daily.

Search Engine Wars - How to get noticed

Well it has finally happened I have made #1 position in Google and 1st Page of Yahoo for the search term "Collection Agencey" Granted this is a misspelling, but it is a very common one. I have actually seen court documents using this misspelling. That may explain why I am getting so much traffic at http://squidoo.com/ccv/ which of course links to this blog and several others.

Thanks to all of the people who are reading and following my blog. I will eventually move the blogs to a my own domain with a better layout that makes it easier to find information that my readers are interested in.

I can't believe you put that on the Internet

In a recent negotiation with a collection agency defense attorney, I feel that my blog about the situation caused them to settle for more money than my original demand.

A couple of things happened that cause this.

They did not meet my original demand in the time line that was given to settle.
I memorialized everything that was said to me by their attorney in my blog
I posted actual emails that he sent me.
I taunted mildly in my blog.
I have the recordings I claimed to have.
I did not let them hear them. I just gave a cursory overview of what they contained.
They did not want a jury or judge to hear them either.

I was chastised by their attorney for making our negotiations public, it was "bad faith". In my opinion it was bad faith that they, collection agency compliance officer, did not return my phone calls in the outset, they did not communicate in a timely fashion and that they BROKE THE LAW.

There is noting wrong in memorializing my affairs with them online in my personal blog. Those are my thoughts and I did not make any false statement of facts. That blog had almost 800 hits in less than 48 hours! It was because the trolls emailed it around the country to other collection agencies and attorneys. I assume they all verified my thinking in that the collection agency screwed up and there was nothing wrong with me posting facts and personal thoughts on the Internet. Fortunately for me, they drove the majority of the traffic to it. Granted I did drive some traffic to the blog by posting links to it in forum post, but when the forum trolls (aka collection agency lurkers) started seeing it it created a viral traffic source.

viral traffic - The reason it's called "viral" is because it works just like a virus. One person sees your blog and passes it on to as many people as possible. But compared to a computer virus,
it's not dangerous and it gets you noticed.

It also generated some income from other means than the eventual settlement. If you would like more info on that send me a email. From this particular transaction I learned some valuable things.

Don't show your hand until all the chips are in the middle of the table. They tried to cast doubt on the content of the recordings. I did not let them hear them. If they wanted to hear them they could agree to $xxxx.xx or hear them in court.
Attorneys and collection agencies don't like you to call their bluff and if you have the goods don't let them try to bully you. I had a royal flush and they had two pair.
Collection agencies don't like to be made a mockery of, but they don't mind trying to intimidate you.
They will settle real fast if you play your hand properly. Nine days from Intent to Sue email/fax to settlement.

Why I use my real name

I have had a few people ask why I use my real name. I debated on using a "handle" and decided that it really does not matter. If you want to find out who I am you will be able to. So I am using my real name.

Collection agency minions, collection attorneys don't like me, no big deal it is a given.

Collection agency defense attorneys like me - I generate fees.
Abused consumers like me - I give insight to my problems, direct to free resources and give my opinion of what I would do.

But the fears of using my name don't scare me. I can deal with them

I am not worried about a collection agency stalking me.
I am not worried about you stalking me you will goto jail or die.
If you harass me you will find yourself in court, jail or both.
If you threaten my family or me you will goto jail.
If you physically try to hurt my family or me you will goto jail or die.

Notice I used die, this means if you threaten my family or myself with physical danger you may find a bullet in your head if you do it in person. No I am not a militant wacko but I believe Congress made all of those laws for a reason and I have the right to bear arms and do so.

Don't Talk to These Clown - Unless you know what you are doing.

Never talk to a collection agency on the phone. There are some exceptions to this rule, but for the most part stay off the phone unless you can record them. For the most part collection agencies rely on the phone to intimidate consumers into paying them. If you decide you want to pay a collection agency I will explain at another time a process pay for delete which is the ONLY way I would ever agree to pay a collection agency.

If they are calling you unrelentlessly that in itself is a violation of The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. But unless you are prepared to record collection agencies stay off the phone with them. There are several different ways to accomplish this. My favorite way is to use a service like Skype and computer recording software. The nice thing about using Skype is they cannot lock into your phone number and you can call all of the USA for free. Linking Back

One of the best ways to get noticed by the search engines, google,yahoo,etc, is through link backs. If your blog about ABC Collection Agency is linked to other websites the search engine spiders will pick up on that when hte craw the other website, this gives your blog more credibility.

It was pointed out by a dear friend at my new favorite forum that I had some grave spelling errors in my original article. I was spelling collection agency as "collection agencey", well really that is not so bad. I will explain:

When search engines spiders start crawling websites and indexing them they read every word on the page. So if somebody types in collection agencey, a common misspelling of collection agency, in google then the spiders will have indexed any site that has collection agencey in it's content. So, in reality spelling collection agency wrong and using collection agencey is not such a bad thing. Not many professional collection agency's websites will use the misspelling collection agencey in their content. So that is a plus if you are trying to get your blog or site indexed by the search engines.

So make sure that you incorporate ABC Collection Agencey in with ABC Collection Agency..

The first thing to do if you are having a problem with a specific collection agency is to start a blog about it. The blog will allow you chronicle your dealings with them and provide links back to other people's blogs about the same collection agency or other collection agencies. What these links back to other blogs do is enhance each others search engine rankings in fighting collection agencies. You can get your own blog like this one just by clicking the button above.

It is called the world wide web with sites linking to one another. The sites with the most links back and good search content win. For example the words " collection agency " is used already three times and " collection " agencies" four times on this page. As well as collection agency is used in the URL (web address). So if you wanted to start a blog about ABC Collection agency the more times you use their name and the words collection agency in your articles about them and increasing your link back to your blog you may eventually eclipse them in search engine ranking.

The best way to start linking back to your blog is to use the blogs URL in the signature line in any forums that you may post to. That is just a start... The next article will be more on linking back.
